Hound Club Of East Anglia

STANDARD L/H DACHSHUND

Puppy: 1. Mr L J Cross’s Loggeta Trouble In Texas  6-month red dog at what I believe was his first show.  Correct in size with a lovely head and eye and very well balanced.  A strong front and lovely neck into good angulation and topline which was held on the move. For one so young he showed exceptionally well, moving with good drive and was pleased to award BP and RBOB. Was thrilled to see him win the RBOB Winners Contest. I will watch with interest the progress of this promising puppy, I loved him.  2. Mrs A C Booth & Mr I A Elsley’s Abbalongdat I Had a Dream 8-month red dog of slightly taller type than 1. Masculine head and eye. Would prefer stronger front angulation but rear angulation was better allowing him to move with some rear drive.

Junior: 1. Mr T L Johnson & Mr L J Cross’s Wardax Angelica at Loggeta 17-month Red bitch of good size and proportions.  Feminine head and good prosternum but would prefer to see slightly better ribbing.  Moved well holding her topline but slightly narrow behind.  2. Mr M Wedge’s Danton Fire Dancer at Dolans 12-month old red bitch with a lovely feminine head and eye. Good angulation and topline but not as strong as 1 in movement.

Post Graduate: 1. Mr M Wedge’s Faulksfollie Miss Minaver at Dolans Red bitch with a nice feminine head and eye but a little stuffy in the neck.  Front and rear angulation, although not the best, allowed good movement around the ring.  Decent length of ribbing and topline held throughout.  2. Miss J M Dimon’s Labbadax Inspiration for Dimerlin Shaded red dog of larger type and with a profuse coat.  Strong masculine head and a nice front.  Preferred the front angulation of 1 and today I found him rather loose in rear movement. Shorter nails might help.

Open: 1. Mr T L Johnson &Mr L J Cross’s Africandawns Myles Long Black and Tan dog in good condition with an excellent coat.  Well balanced, looks super on the stack and very elegant but unfortunately, for me, this elegance is lacking in the head.  Good angulation and strong topline allowing him to move well with good rear drive. Pleased to award him BOB and delighted to see him take BIS Group 4  2. Mr M Wedge’s Peverleigh Autumnal Louis at Dolans Masculine red dog of correct proportion although carrying a little bit of extra weight today.  Good boning and angulation with a strong topline.  Moved okay with some good rear drive.
