Great Dane Breeders' & Owners' Association
Great Dane Breeders & Owners Open Show Saturday 2nd November 2019
Thank you to the committee and exhibitors for a fabulous entry and day, most of my decisions were taken with dignity and in good gesture. Dentition was ok with only a couple of level bites. Movement is still an issue, we seem to be getting to upright in shoulder with no return of upper arm, rear over angulation an lack of muscle tone and 2nd thigh making movement unbalanced. Not many Danes could do the job they were originally bred to do today but better than when I last judged so we are going on the right direction.
Bitches
Minor Puppy (3,1abs)
1st Cubitt's Annadanes Turkana, 7 month old baby, elegant feminie head, dark eye, expressive expression using ears well, long neck into well placed shoulders, slightly long in loin but very baby at the moment. Won this class today on movement as held her topline and croup better than 2nd.
2nd Kingsley's Dainoak Felicitas, 7 month old well marked harli, clear clean makings, larger make and shape than one, clean head, dark eye, small neat ears, nice shoulders, better spring of rib, more 4 square. Just lost out to one on the move as she dropped her croup today spoiling her outline. Lots more to come from this baby.
Puppy (3)
1st Simpson's Renescent Gin and Juice, 10 month old blue Bitch, lovely feminie make and shape, lovely clean head, dark eye, small neat ears used to her advantage, long neck into good shoulders, firm topline, equal angles fore and aft, won this class on clean movement covering the ground with ease and extention. One to watch.
2nd Cubitt's Annadanes Turkana, 1 st in Minor Puppy Bitch
3rd Page & Concannon Dainoak Destined To Dream at Novavida, 11 month old blue bitch, at th rangy stage at the moment thought she was my class winner on initial look, stronger make and shape then 1st and 2nd, classic head, dark eye, long neck into ok shoulders, a little soft in topline, but steep in croup which really cost her on the move which ruined her outline and balance as this prevented her from extending the rear.
Junior (5, 2abs)
1st Page & Concannon Glamour Girl V Rosherta At Novavida ( Ned Imp), 14 month old black bitch, Femine well chissled head, dark eye, long neck into well laid shoulders, good return in upper arm, strong topline, good group and well muscled, really came into her own on the move which won her the class as she extended and drove covering the ground with ease.
2nd Abbott's Nakimi Serenade, 12 month old Brindle bitch, thought wow on the stand, feminie head, dark eye, neat small ears, chest developing nicely, a little soft in topline but still growing, stood 4 square lost out on her rear movement as she never extended fully and didn't really drive from behind which cost her the class today. Would prefer lighter fawn background but one to watch as she grows.
3rd Pocock's Tamzdane Cinndoughrella, 14 month old harli, looked great on the stand, clean feminie head, strong neck, straight white front, well filled chest, good spring of rib, a little soft in topline at present, over angulated at the rear which showed in her movement today losing her topline in profile and moving close behind. Still has a lot to go and time on her side.
Novice (3,1 abs)
1st Kingsley's Dainoak Felicitas, 2nd in Minor Puppy.
2nd Sheil's Shir Singapore Sling, 15 month old blue, feminie head, defined stop, ears a little large, long neck into good shoulders, a little straight in upper arm, well filled chest, a little steep in croup which affected her movement losing her topline and crabbing on the move. handler would benefit from moving a little faster with wider strides which would enable the both to extend more on the move.

1st Pocock's Tamzdane Cinndoughrella, 3 rd in Junior
