BELGIAN SHEPHERD DOG (TERVUEREN)

Graduate D/B:

1st Banfield’s CLIFFEAST BOB THE BUILDER, 22 mth old male. Super head with correct ear-set and lovely eye giving pleasing expression. Good proportions with deep chest and moderately sprung rib but a little long in loin and elbows could be tighter but had balanced movement but could have been cleaner coming and going. RBOB.

Open D/B:

1st Jordan-Davis’s BLACKFYRE NEFARIOUS INTENTIONS (Imp USA), 4 yr old bitch. Attractive head with good proportions, moderate neck leading to correctly placed withers. Good forechest giving nice angulation on front and tight elbows. A little longer in body than I would prefer yet shorter in loin giving strength to her topline. Moderate rise to her underline from deep chest. Nice croup and well-set tail, nicely angulated rear. Moved very well with super side gait as well as clean coming and going. BOB.

BORDER COLLIES

Puppy D/B:

1st Farmer’s BHAVYA BAJI, 6 mth old bitch. Very raw and a little overwhelmed. Nice type with pleasing head with lovely dark eye and pleasing expression, ears well set but ear carriage could be better. Body of good proportions being slightly longer than height at withers, a little ‘bum high’ at the moment but that should improve with maturity. Movement ok, needs to tidy in front – again should improve with development of the chest. RBOB & BP

Open D/B:

1st Hartfield’s MOSHANTA MOVIN ON JW SHCM, 4 yr old bitch. Loved her type with overall balance and athleticism. Nice feminine head with good expression and correct ear set and carriage. Good length of neck leading to well placed shoulders, excellent forequarters with good straight front. Well ribbed with good length of body to height ratio. Elbows set well under. Nicely angulated rear with correct tail set and carriage. Moved with good reach and drive but could be a little stronger in rear and tended to crab on the move. BOB.

Puppy D/B:

1st Johnson’s VALLEYRISE ILLUSTRATION, 9mth old bitch. Lovely head of good proportions and super eye giving kind expression. Nicely set ears being just above the eye level with lovely black tips. Moderate neck leading to firm topline. Length of body a little longer than height with nicely sprung ribs. Well angulated front with good layback of shoulder and decent forechest. A slightly sloping croup with good set of tail which was carried quite high. Moved well. BP.

Graduate D/B:

1st Frankcom’s GENETIKA TINY TOM THUMB, 2 yr old dog who was beautifully shown by his young handler. A lot to like about this boy. Lovely orange colour, pleasing masculine head with correct ears carried close to the head. Moderate neck leading to firm topline of good length and correctly set tail. Not quite as angulated in front but nicely angulated, well-muscled rear. Nice spring of rib and decent length of loin. Moved well with good side gate and clean front and rear. RBOB.

Open D/B:

1st Johnson’s SENSATION VOM TESPELKOOI OF VALLEYRISE (IMP DEU), almost 4yr old bitch of lovely type and size. Super head and expression with good proportions and well-set ears carried correctly. Slightly longer than tall with good angulation front and rear giving balanced, sound, springy gait with nice extension and drive. BOB.

Puppy D/B:

1st Marshall’s ARABESQUE AT DEVONIA (IMP RUS), almost 9 mth dog. Pleasing head and expression with dark eye and nice spectacles. Short, compact body giving nice overall appearance. Firm topline leading to well set tail with good plume but would prefer a tighter curl. Profuse coat with good definition of colour but would prefer slightly clearer silver, however, this may improve with age. Sufficient substance throughout. Slightly sloping front pasterns and good feet. Moved briskly with straight front and rear. BP.

2nd Williams’s REPETA’S FOLLOW THAT STAR TO DRUITZ (IMP SWE), 8 mth old bitch. Very nice bitch but rather unsettled today which made it difficult to assess movement. Lovely feminine head and expression showing clear spectacles. Correct ear shape and set. Moderate neck leading to level topline. Tightly curled tail carried well over back. A little longer cast than my winner. Well sprung rib with tight elbows and good forechest. Super coat of good texture, and super clear silver. Really liked this bitch, such a shame she was having a rather a lot of fun in the ring today.

Open D/B:

1st Lindsay’s CH COSMIC DREAM’S DAMN YOU LOOK GOOD FOR MEZANDA (IMP NOR), just 16 mth old bitch. Just loved this bitch. Super colour coat of correct texture and clear silver with lovely definition. Feminine head of nice proportions and correct the darkest of eye giving lovely kind expression. Dark ears of good shape; set and used well. Moderate neck leading to level topline and high set tail with decent curl and correct plume. Moderate angulation front and rear and super brisk movement which was clean coming and going. Would love to see her again at full maturity. BOB & G3.

2nd Lindsay’s MEZANDA MERRY STARSHOWER (AI), 3 yr old dog. Lovely type boy of good substance. Masculine head of good proportions. Moderate neck to nicely laid shoulders. Level topline and well-set tail. Good spring of rib but a little longer cast. Good colour and nice definition throughout. Moved soundly. RBOB.

3rd Lindsay’s MEZANDA MELYS SPARKLES (AI).

Puppy D/B:

1st McCracken’s MARBLEDALE JUST DESSERT, 9 mth old bitch. This golden baby took my eye as soon as she walked in. Super her head and expression with lovely length of neck and well laid-back shoulders leading to level topline. Well set tail carried closely over back. Straight forelegs of good substance. Lovely height to length ratio with nicely sprung ribs extending well back. Moved very well and presented a beautifully balanced picture. BOB, BP & PG1 Such a shame she was a little unsettled during BPIS.

OPEN D/B:

1st McCracken’s MARBLEDALE KISS THE STARS AT LHOTSE, 23 mth old bitch. Another gold bitch, very similar in type to the puppy. Super head proportions with nice eye giving good expression. Moderate neck leading to well laid back shoulders. Slightly longer cast than my BOB, but nice angulation and moved well despite not liking the floor. RBOB.

POODLE (MINIATURE)

OPEN D/B:

1st Bell’s JUSANIN GLENISTER, 8.5 yr old black dog. Now a veteran, this dog was not as well presented as others, but what a mover! Liked his masculine, well chiselled head with almond shaped dark eye. Long, low set ears with held close to his head. Good length of neck which could have been accentuated with better trimming. Well laid back shoulders and elbows set well under. Good body with well sprung, rounded ribs. Back a little longer than I would like but had slight hollow. Nicely angulated rear with straight hocks which were well let down. Tail well set and carried correctly. He won this class on movement, which was well reaching, balanced, effortless and with plenty of drive. BOB.

2nd Cann’s SUNMARCA MOONLIGHT SHADOW, almost 3 yr old black bitch. Feminine bitch who was presented beautifully. A lot to like about her with super head of good proportions and well chiselled. Ears long and hanging close to her face. Good length of neck leading to slightly hollowed topline, body fairly short, rounded rib with good tuck up. Slightly lower set tail carried correctly. Not as well angulated as my BOB, which showed in the movement, having less reach and drive. RBOB.

Puppy D/B:

1st Lambert’s LETS TRY IT THIS WAY AROUND SHAMISHA, 9 mth old B&W bitch. Very eye catching, feminine bitch. Nice square outline and presented a pleasing picture. Lovely head with dark eye, good pigment and good ear set. Nice length of neck leading to level topline lacking the slight rise over the loin. Well set tail which was carried correctly over the back. A little straight in shoulder with elbows not as tight, but as a baby this may improve with development. Well sprung ribs, just reaching the elbow, quite light in body. Nicely angulated rear, with well let down hocks. Moved with purpose with plenty of drive but front a little wide. BP & PG4.

Graduate D/B:

1st Lawrence’s ARAKI THE PHANTOM MENACE AT TAZIQUE, 17 mth Tri-colour dog. Nice square outline with good head and expression. Moderate neck; would prefer better layback of shoulder. Firm topline with slight rise over loin. Good strong body with nice depth of chest and spring of rib. Well set tail carried correctly over back. Lovely texture coat at Junior stage. Moved very well with good reach and drive, balanced and flowing, straight coming and going. RBOB.

2nd Meakin’s LAYOLI FIRECRACKER AT MIKSANG, 18 mth black dog. Beautiful head and expression with large, round dark eye. Good neck into well laid-back shoulder. Good topline with slight rise over loin. A little longer than I would like. Nice solid body with good correctly sprung rib, but longer in loin. Nicely angulated rear. Moved well.

1st Plummer’s TETSIKARMA STARGAZER SHCM, 7 yr old B&W Dog. Really liked this boy overall, he took me back to when I first started showing TT’s. Lovely head with resolute expression. Lovely square outline. Moderate neck, a little upright in shoulder, nice large, round, flat feet. Good topline with slight rise over loin and well-set tail with a kink at the end. Lovely straight front with good substance, tight elbows and well sprung ribs. Short loin and moderately angulated rear with parallel hocks which were well let down. In super, profuse, coat which was straight with excellent texture. Moved well with balance and ease. BOB.

2nd Plummer’s TETSIKARMA LOLA STARGIRL SHCM, 7 yr old G&W bitch. Litter sister to my winner and lots to like. Another with good substance! Lovely head and expression, great coat of good texture. A little straight in shoulder which gave a shorter neck. Topline good with rise over loin, lower set tail not carried quite as well as her brother. Nice depth and spring of rib. Rear angulation could be better, moved well.

Puppy D/B:

1st Stidwell’s WASHOE I GOT THE GIRL AT BEAUFROGZ, 9 mth old fawn bitch. Nice sturdy, compact bitch with a lot to like. Good square head, correct bat ears which were wide at the base and well-rounded tips, carried well. Nicely cushioned on upper lip, and well-muscled cheeks. Attractive dark & round eye correctly set. Moderate neck with good arch leading to topline showing slight roach, body compact with well sprung ribs and short loin. Nice straight front set wide apart. Good tuck-up and nicely defined loin. Would prefer slightly better angulation to the rear but moved soundly throughout. BOB & BP.

Open D/B:

1st Stidwell’s LAIRDSTOM OBAN BAY BOY AT BEAUFROGZ, 22 mth piebald male. Larger, well boned male but was longer cast. Scored in head having lovely square appearance and excellently padded lips with well-muscled cheeks. Moderate neck which was short and thick. Well laid back shoulders but lacked a little in upper arm. Deep, well spring ribs and slight cut up. Topline was slightly roached as required. Nicely muscled rear giving excellent rear movement which was clean and sound. RBOB.

2nd Freeze’s BEAUFROGZ BRONZITE WARRIOR OF TEXASTEA, Just 13 mth brindle male. Nice youngster giving away some maturity to the older male. Nice proportions, correct ears, lacked a little in padding to lips which altered his head and expression some. Nice round, dark eye. Moderate neck well arched. Nice front assembly, good body with well sprung ribs, slight cut up with strong loin. Would prefer a slightly more defined roach. Nicely angulated rear; well let down hocks and good feet.

MINIATURE SCHNAUZER

1st Wood’s PENBRO PUT A SPELL ON YOU JW SHCM, 17 mth old S & P bitch. Loved this bitch as soon as she walked in the ring. Lovely head and expression with super dark, oval eye. Moderate neck, strong and slightly arched, leading to well laid shoulders and good upper arm. Straight front with good feet. Short compact body of good width with straight, strong topline which was slightly sloping towards the rear, short loin. Rear was well muscled, correctly angulated with well let down hocks. Movement was effortless with good reach and drive, a joy to watch. Was pleased to award this girl BOB and GRP 1.

2nd Ilott’s LEECURT STOLE OUR HEART, 18 mth S & P bitch. Another lovely girl with a lot to offer. Good head and sturdy body. Preferred the neck and forequarters on my winner which gave her slightly better reach than this little lady. Good rear with nice angulation, moved cleanly. RBOB.

1st Bawden & Brown’s CH KHANATE GIN FIZZ SHCM, 7 yr old S & P Male. Very nice male with super masculine head and expression. Moderate neck which flowed into well laid-back shoulders. Good upper arm leading to straight front. Deep chest with well sprung ribs and slight rise to the loin. Well set tail. Slightly angulated on the rear with good low hocks. Moved well, but rear could be tidier. BOB.

1st Crocker’s TWOOFUS LOVE IS IN THE AIR, Poodle (Standard) – Black almost two yrs old bitch, full of exuberance and enthusiasm. Good head, carried high, and lovely feminine expression. Neck of good length leading to well laid shoulders. Short back, slightly hollowed, well set tail. Good forequarters with straight legs which were nicely muscled, good feet. Rounded rib which were well sprung and muscular loin. Strong rear with well bent stifles and well let down hocks. Lovely free striding movement with plenty of reach and drive. BAVNSC.

2nd Bell’s AEDAN TALK OF MAKING MUSIC, Poodle (Toy) – Black 20 mth bitch. Bitch of lovely shape who moved very well. I preferred the head of my winner, but the tail set was super on this little girl. Nicely made with good angulation, a shorter neck but good topline and moved easily.

1st Crocker’s LOTRINGHAM FREESLEY FETE, Poodle (Standard) – 8 yr old black bitch. Another nice bitch with good angulation and lovely head carried proudly. Pleasing outline, well set tail with sound, straight movement showing good reach and drive. Res BAVNSC.

2nd Bull & Warren’s CH ZARALEE HUSSELL AND BUSSELL WITH STARFERRY (IMP IRE) SHCM – Shar Pei. This bitch has a lot to like. Super head with lovely small triangular ears, moderate neck and nicely angulated forequarters. Slight dip behind the withers and rise over the loin. Correct wrinkling over shoulders to tail. Body rather longer cast than I would prefer. Nicely set tail carried well. Moderate angulation on rear, with well let down hocks. Moved ok, nice front a little untidy in rear and tended to crab.

1st Kirk & Turley’s ANGELCREST SHADOW MASTER, Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless). Almost 5 yr old, Miniature sized male. Up to size. Nice head of good proportions with well set, large erect ears. Moderate neck leading to level topline with slightly sloping croup. Nice upper arm and deep chest reaching to elbows. Elbows could be tighter and feet a little splayed. Longer than tall with slight tuck up and nicely sprung rib. Carrying a little too much weight. Could have better angulation on rear, lacking in muscle tone. Movement a little erratic. BIR UTY.

2nd Wallington’s DALLYADOR SECRET PASSION FOR ROVINJDAL, Dalmatian - almost 12 mth old black spotted bitch. Lovely head and expression with good dark eye and black pigment. Good length of neck leading to well defined withers and level back. Good body proportions with well sprung ribs. Tail well set and carried nicely on the move. A little upright on the forequarters but nicely angulated on the rear. Nice puppy, but moved rather erratically, having a great time out.

1st Wayman’s STARLANCE SARGEANT PEPPER AT MYNAPAW JW SHCM, Tibetan Spaniel - 7.5 yr old male. This gentleman took my eye at first glance. Superb head and expression with nicely set ears carried well. Moderately short neck with good layback of shoulder and excellent upper arm placing his front well underneath. Tight elbows with slightly bowed front and good hare feet. Level topline, well-set tail carried over the back with a generous plume. Body slightly longer than tall, with good rib. Coat of correct texture lying fairly flat. Moved extremely well with true front and sound rear. Could happily have taken this one home! B UTY VET. I was very pleased to see him awarded BVIS later in the day.

2nd Mayo’s DAJOMI FAIR YOUNG MAID AT GASHOLI, Bulldog – 2 yr old bitch. Bulldogs are not a breed that I often take to, but this bitch took my eye. She was certainly thick set and rather low in stature. She conveyed a powerful and compact appearance. She had a lovely head with super expression. Correct topline without being overdone. Lovely front and rear movement, sound and typical of the breed.

3rd Lindsay’s CH COSMIC DREAM’S DAMN YOU LOOK GOOD FOR MEZANDA (IMP NOR), Keeshond

4th Bevis’ BALGAY MA LINETTE OF STARLANCE JW SHCM SHCEX, Tibetan Spaniel – Almost 3 yr old bitch. Another lovely Tibby with good head, expression and nicely set ears. Moderate neck leading to level topline with good tail set curled well over the back. Good front with nice body proportions, well angulated rear with parallel hocks. Moved soundly.

2nd Wilkinson’s GWYNMOR LEWELLYN TO HUNACRES, Dalmatian – 7 mth old black spotted male. Raw youngster with super head and expression. Good length of neck with good layback and well-defined withers. Slightly higher in the rear to be expected at this age. Good front with slight rise to underline. Balance angulation and tail carried well. Raw baby with lots to offer.

3rd Bevis’ STARLANCE FOLLOW MY WAY, Tibetan Spaniel – 7 mth old male. It must have been a quality entry of Tibby’s here today! Lovely youngster with a promising future. Good head and neck, level topline and well-set tail. Good angulation front and rear with nice body proportions. Moved well for one so young.
